It's 7:59 a.m. I had to stay late night to finish an assignment and was woken up by my mother who insisted that 6:00 a.m. was already late for me to get out of bed, which it was. It took me a while to stop yawning but I trudge through all my morning duties with the voice in my head planning the next move and organizing a schedule to follow. Today's mission is to smile the whole time.

THE CREATION OF @SANTAMARIAINSIGHTS ...
Inspired by the wide range of local businesses in my community, in June of 2020 I created an Instagram page named @SantaMariaInsights, capturing every unique small business and featuring them to be supported. In the rise of @SantaMariaInsights, I created digital flyers using my prior knowledge on google slides and learning how to use photoshopping websites. I spent around 10 hours a week watching tutorials, publishing new posts, and interacting. Using iMovie I started to create videos using my prior experience as an FFA Chapter Report using iMovie. With an enthusiastic perspective, I continue to engage with my community digitally on my simple yet marvelous shattered iPhone 6. In addition, my work started to be acknowledged and I began to receive requests for promotional videos with a drone, it became more than a hobby. I realized that local businesses would benefit from digital affordable video commercials to promote themselves and that video reviews were very significant. I intend to grow as a Social Media Marketer and in order to do that, I need appropriate tools. I plan to invest on a computer or camera by doing any odd jobs that I can get. @SantaMariaInsights is not only for small businesses to become more known but also for various organizations and resources from the community. Information can be reshared to a bigger audience and translated to various languages and dialects. I am bilingual and proficient in both Spanish and English and I am currently learning the Mixteco dialect, specifically alto to reach a wider audience. By using my editing and digital art skills I create posts that are understandable for a wide range. I have faith in our generation to be the connection between the modern changes we are going through and their families. Today, I am one step closer to being the person I want to be by giving back to my community and breaking the lack of communication about resources with the uninformed minority communities that stand as barriers for families to grow.
